Manufacturing Week - October 26-30, 2015

The 2nd annual No Job Left Behind Manufacturing Week was a success. Eight industry partners in Coles, Douglas, Macon and Moultrie counties opened their doors for 240 students from seven different area school districts.  Student and business participation more than doubled since the first event in 2014.

Feedback from participants:

"I didn't know there were so many different jobs" in manufacturing

"I think I would be good at doing this" in reference to manufacturing jobs

I learned that "engineering has many branches"

One chaperoning teacher stated "The support network (front office, HR, IT, Engineers) much more extensive than we realized".

A local businesses said, "Doing these events and working to improve the perception of manufacturing is important to us and we are willing to put effort into it."
